I am wondering about some things and I need your help friends.
I have a chance to go to Colorado with a friend. Its an old co-worker. I have never been anywhere really. My husband drove truck and I went with him a few times but he was more of a local guy going to only surrounding states. Not OVR like most. Anyway I was asked by this person. Its a 4 day trip. I have to say I'm nervous and I don't want to have a meltdown. I've never traveled so going to new places is exciting but very scary for me. Oh yes and did I mention this person is a man. He and I worked together for 2 years and have the occasional "hi how are you " text. Which I anitiate every now and then. He knows about my loss but only on the surface. He says he asked because he knows going to see the mountains is on my bucket list and he needs someone to keep him company on the long drive. He's going there for some work related training classes so its not a casual trip. Any advice? Any travel tips? Any Cautions I should be thinking about? Thoughts on if this is a trip I should take?? When I think about companionship, I think about coffee or a dinner at the local resturant. Not going several hours from home. My finances are stable enough to go but I'm not sure about my emotional state. Going somewhere with someone else and not my husband??? Hmm... I have a while to think on it since he's not leaving until end of April. Thanks my friends

I told him I didn't think I was ready for such a long trip with someone..... Anyone... I told him I would trade in my mountain view for a coffee or lunch a lot closer to home. He lives and hour from me so I figured if he was willing to drive 4 hours WITH me then he would have no problem driving an hour for coffee. He was apologetic and said he didn't extend the invite to upset me or cause me to question his intentions. He said he was not trying to be insensitive to my grief and added he honestly has no idea what im going through. He asked how I get through the days... And my answer was "I have an amazing group of friends on DS who get it and are always there for me. No matter what the topic. He said he would be glad to meet for coffee or lunch at a place of my choosing, on my terms. I felt better about his answers to my declining his offer. Hugs to all who have my back. I am here for you also.
