I just thought I would tell everyone my story:
I have had all the many cards (186) in a basket since August 18th, 2010, started going through them, also put articles etc, photos whatever as I was going through things in this basket.

My goal was to do a scrapbook of our life together. I am amazed how comforting and how happy starting this yesterday has made me. I thought I would be so upset I would not be able to do it but I honestly feel good and its going so good.

I made a section of his grade school, high school, Army, colleges and his job once out of college for WA State Game Dept. These were things prior to US. Its titled About Roger - it includes his skiing slalom (sp?) for schools, etc....
That section ends with his write up for his 45th class reunion which we attended. With a narrative than going into our lives together...from day we met to day we married and all from than on.

I just am amazed how good its going.

Good for you!! It sounds like a wonderful tribute to your husband's life. I hope to do this also someday and make one for each of our children, but it will be awhile before I can deal with that. Hugs to you today, Dawn

I am finishing up a scrapbook that I will use at the celebration of Mac's life after we inter his ashes, next month. I feel really good about it, too. Later, maybe for his kids' Christmas, I will make one for the son and daughter. I laughed and cried and actually found myself feeling better with each page that I finished. I re-read the cards and printed out all the email messages that I had received to include, too.

So glad someone else is doing this, because I was feeling guilty about enjoying it so much.

So nice to hear this. I was in Michaels craft store the other day for yarn and I started looking at all of the things available for scrapebooking. Was actually thinking of it and like you thought it might make me sad. Maybe not Thanks for the post I may just do it. Hug, Donna

It took me two years to tackle this. I had scrapbooks since high school. I just finished sending out all of our pictures to be scanned for a ''scrapbook'' online. I had squished corsages, swizzle sticks, programs, etc. from high school and college, all of our trips, etc. I still haven't gone through the letters that Jerry wrote me when he graduated from college a year before me - not ready for those yet. The pictures bring me such comfort, and the joy of being reminded that we had a very happy life. Hope it brings you comfort - what a great gift for your children!

I picked up a few scrapbooking items to start making a memorial album for Trav. Haven't started it yet. He built me a craft room in our basement so everything is set to go, I just have to get down there, My craft room is bittersweet memories since we built it together, Hugs to everyone.
