Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Our Grandchildren and 2 great Grandsons talk of him often.
Ken was 61 . I have a huge picture of him on the wall with his Urn on a shelf under him.
I have continued a tradition that we had.
I tell him Good Morning and Goodnight.
Tell him I love him and blow him a kiss.
That was the way for 38 years we started and ended each day.
When she walked into a room the people in the room lit up, she was the core that would gather everyone together for every occasion.
She never turned down anyone who needed her help, she loved all the children on her school bus each year, she treated our kids friends like they were hers.
Her home life when she was young was not an easy one, her Dad died when she was only 7 years old and thru her life her Mom always gave her a hard time and would seem to take her anger out on Jilanne, she also lost her middle brotherwhen he was just 21 years old as he was in and out of jail all the time, and he was killed doing a robbery, her oldest brother well he's just a jerk.
When my Mom and Stepdad were sick she helped take care of them like they were her own parents.
She loved every minute of her life and she is gone way too soon.
She was an incredible women.
I miss her and love her and I can't wait to see her again in Paradise.
She was a hippie in her earlier life and continued so thru her life in her heart.
She would sneak into clubs in Detroit to listen to Bob Seeger when he was an amateur. She was taken to a Janis Joplin concert at a very young age. Janis saw this little girl and gave her the bracelet she was wearing during the concert.
Lyn bought her first house at age fourteen with her mother's signature.
She took care of her grandfather when he was sick while she worked, went to nursing school and took care of her daughter.
After we were married her mother was diagnosed with Althzhiemers and moved in with us. Linda was her around the clock care taker until her mom passed. Lyn washed her and got her ready for the funeral home refusing to let anyone else do it.
Later she became my mother's care taker around the clock when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer until she passed.
Linda's passion was nursing. A natural born nurturer. She always wanted to alleviate the pain of others.
She loved animals. A foster parent with the local humane society.
A lover of butterflies.
Fishing, hiking, gardening, creating rock gardens. Collector of drift wood. All sizes, my back can attest to that.
Hated it when she heard others talking down to the elderly as if they were children. She always respected them as her elders.
She was 52 and way too young to have finished her race. She had so much more to do. But her car injuries took away what she loved out of life and kept her mostly house bound. This really did her in.
She was the best thing that ever happened to me. Even with the issues we had over the years the unconditional love was always there.
Peace, Tim
.
We met on the evening of February 16, 1988, at a place that neither one of us had any business being...if we would have been doing "what we were supposed to be", we never would have met.
About a month after we met, she gave me a pocket watch and told me "There is only one thing I'll ever ask you for, is time".
Marylou was a nurse's aid, and she loved her work in medicine, loved touching people and making their lives better.
Like she did mine.
Her dad saw action in Europe in WWII, and she always made time for veterans...to this day, I donate to some veterans charities in her name...just for the sheer pleasure of forging her signature on the check.
She schooled me well on the beliefs of her Lakota heritage...mostly, that "death" does not end a marriage or anything else...because there is no such thing as "death."
She went to the Spirit realm on June 12th, 2015, where she waits for me.
She is my wife, and her name is Marylou.
1-4-3 Forever, My Baby.
I love you Denny.
Bill was bright and could be very funny. He had a strong fatherly personality. Bill had 3 children that he dearly loved from a former marriage. Bill liked at various times in his life, vegetable gardening, knives, archery, wood carving, fishing, camping, walking his dog. Bill loved me, his kids, his dog Katie and most of all Bill loved the Lord.
Her name is Debbie and she will always be 53..
We were together for 30+ years and married for almost 25
years.
She was beautiful but hated it when we had business and
social events and she had to wear dresses. She preferred
her jeans and boots and the smell of saddle leather. She
dressed like a hippie / cowgirl most of the time at home but
could instantly change into a radiant beautiful woman in a
beautiful dress for a business dinner or special event. That
always amazed me.
She loved her horses and dogs and the unconditional love they
gave to her. She even had a pet raccoon named " Rocky " for
a number of years. She was the only person that could hand
feed Rocky as he adored her.
She was devoted to her father and did everything she could
to take care of him as he progressed downward over a long
period of time with Parkinson's.
She defended children, older people and animals and was
quick to act if she observed anyone trying to cause harm to
them.
She was in love with John Wayne. Debbie always told me
marrying me was the closest she would ever get to meeting
John Wayne and that always put a smile on my face. I
managed to acquire a life size cut out of John Wayne from
the movie "McClintock " and it still stands next to her chair
at home. I would call her from work and ask how she was
doing and she would always say something like, " John
Wayne and I are watching a movie. " or whatever she was
doing at the time. Her answers almost always involved her
and John Wayne. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking
about that. I am not going to hear that again. I miss that so
much as it happened thousands of times over the years.
She was my wife, my best friend and the center of my life on
this planet. Her faith was strong and it carried her through
many trials and tribulations over the years. Her strong faith
and my strong faith leads me to believe I shall be with her
again in the future. It just has to be that way as life on earth
would not make any sense to me otherwise.
Debbie gave me and our marriage everything she had. I
could not ask for more. She gave it all and I am completely
lost without her.
Blessings to all -
Darrell in Texas
