Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Just because of the renewal of the pain and for your own well being. Now is time to gather your own helpers and tools. A personal therapist, councilor, a place to let it out, so you are at your best as you can be, for you and your children. There are calming techniques to learn and "talking" techniques for you to use with you children, that a therapist can help with.
Also because of the on going case, you may not believe this , but you have put your grief on a shelf, to deal with more pressing matters. Once those are done, the grief box will jump off the shelf. Because when things slow down, your brain will then want to deal with it.
We are here for you. But extra re-enforcements won't hurt, just help.
Gentle hug for you.
Jewells.
Been dragged through the court process also for the perpetrator ...
Still in court, six years later, for other issues from the collision ...
Thank goodness I'm no longer grieving to keep facing it head on ...
One day you will look back to admire your strength & courage ...
Sending pure energy ...
Be proud of yourself and I admire your courage.

Hang in there!

I started going to court 6 weeks after Bob's death ...
My grief was never on a shelf or in a box as I endured it ...
I grieved as I relived the nightmare same as Sadfire ...
Before, during & after court for 2 1/2 years - grief & rage were one ...
I know I would check out periodically, but it didn't stop my brain from absorbing the account of collision or visual evidence ...
I sucked in the grief as much as possible ...
There were a few times the DDA &/or bailiff told me to either stop sobbing (crushing anxiety attacks) or leave the courtroom ...
It wasn't all rage, it was hearing & seeing what happened to Bob ...
His head was crushed - my heart cried out in pain ...
When a video of the rescue efforts &/or the end result of the collision are right before your eyes I don't think it is possible not to grieve or not have an anxiety attack ...
It wasn't possible for me anyway ...
JMHO from living the experience ...
I know the man that killed Bob gets to go home every night, visit w/his family, party w/his friends whenever ...
Believing in the terms of karma helped me heal ...
"What goes around comes around" ...
"You reap what you sow" ...
I don't wish for it, I let it be ...
Not easy, but after...collapse, until the fight for my care.
Please do get professional support ...
Court can get worse ...
Been there, done that one & still doing others ...
I broke 5 teeth the first year from all the stress ...
Too bad it was after Halloween! LOL!
