No, I do not believe in reincarnation, but I do believe that sometimes animals are sent to keep us company and to comfort us. Oh, and you can tell by my screen name that I am a cat person, so I am naturally biased in favor of cats! :)

Not in reincarnation so much as borrowing a vessel. Depending on what my cat does, meows, or the way she listens, I sometime believe that my husband has borrowed her for a while.

I don't believe I would want my husband to be reincarnated as an animal. However, I occasionally receive signs that involve one (hummingbird, deer, etc.). This is his way of letting me know he is here.

I feel as if my dogs feel my sorrow and will be extra affectionate. My female dog was my Tim's and she isn't much for cuddling but lately she follows me around and comes and lays by me for pets. My boy dog was more mine and he will look into my eys and want his ears rubbed. So I don't believe in reincarnation, but I do believe animal can sense your sorrow and wish to comfort you.

I do believe our loved ones send us signs, sometimes in the way of other living things. My mother and I both loved watching birds. Her favorite was the little House Wren. After she passed away a little Wren frequented a peanut feeder hanging from my deck. It would sing and sing it's beautiful song. I believe she sent it to put a smile on my face. One of my favorites is the Cardinal. I noticed this spring a male Cardinal would greet me almost every morning as I filled the feeders. He would just sing and sing. One evening as I was sitting on my porch a male Cardinal landed on the railing and sat there for a while watching me. He has been around all summer, singing his beautiful song. I believe my husband has sent him to lighten my heart a little.

Ok thanks all!! I like the way ya'll worded it. I do believe maybe the cat is there to just let me know he is watching over me. As we had just moved into that house I was really nervous about coming home at night and leaving in the morning.

I am not too sure about reincarnation, but have watched one documentary about someone claiming to be reincarnated which seemed believable to a degree - but we really don't know the whole picture when it comes to documentaries, they package everything into a small portion of time.

I do believe we are given signs and so on, and I don't think there are any restrictions of how those signs come, but we also need to look at things with a logical frame of mind when we believe there is a sign in order not to hurt ourselves when we come to realize by chance that sign was produced by a logical explanation that we just didn't see before.

We do come back but not as lesser beings and not as ourselves. Have you ever been somewhere or met someone and you just know that you've been there before or met this person, well, you have.

I, too, believe that messages are sent through our beloved animals or through other beings. If we stop and take the time to really listen and watch we'll see it.

I have a Service Dog who, after my beloved Morey passed, decided that he was going to take care of me. He's become very protective, he's started to bark if there's a strange noise outside, he will sleep in bed with me, where he didn't do any of this before.

It's amazing how sensitive and loving an animal can become when they feel we're in pain!

I believe the kitty that is hanging around your house is sensing that someone inside is in pain......

Aww. I like that because I am in pain and it is a pain I never want to experience again. I guess nobody can promise that. But it does make me feel kinda good that I have something to look for or see when we are home even late at night it seems to be there.

I don't believe in reincarnation but I agree with others that our pets sense that we need some contact and come to be near us or that we are very sad and stay by our sides.

I truly hope that there is no reincarnation because when I get to heaven I don't want to have to come back to this world.

However, I think that we can send signs to those left here as well. I have often heard that cardinals are signs from those who have passed on. My husband and I spent the last day before he got sick at a butterfly conservatory. We had a great time. There has been a butterfly hanging around my deck at night which I don't think I ever saw before. I think of butterflies as daytime creatures so it was kind of odd. Anyway, all I could think was that he was sending me his love.

The bottom line is that whatever you think is okay. Maybe the cat wants to be your comfort. Maybe he/she needs a home. They are very nice to cuddle with when you are lonely.

I agree with Onward. My beliefs are of heaven and that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has prepared a place for me, my husband believed and was saves and I know is in heaven as the Bible says "To be absent in body is to be present with The Lord" meaning it's instantaneous no waiting room no gap in between. That's how we believe, and like Onward I believe very much in Angels and I know they give us signs.

There are signs. Perhaps too, that cat needs you.
