Hey everyone, I just need to rant briefly. I have been a widow for 1 year and 3 months and was married for less than 5 years but I don't understand what happened to dating during that time. Since my husband passed away, I have had multiple people ask me to "hook up", "Netflix and chill", etc. I have not been asked on one normal date. And if this is what dating is now, well then NO THANK YOU! For one, I know what a real relationship is and I am not going to settle for anything less. And no; sex or "getting laid" is not going to help me or solve any "problem" I have. It would probably emotionally destroy me right now in all honesty. And me personally, I believe in loving the person you are sleeping with and being committed to each other; not hooking up for a night and being "happy" about it. I didn't realize how old I was at the age of 34 and out of touch with reality. Well if this is the way things are, I am going to stay out of touch with reality. Ok, rant over!
