Hello All,
This morning I went through my normal routine which includes coming to this site. After a lite breakfast and much coffee I decided to go outside and pull some overgrown weeds. Following Scottie's example {smile], I decided to paint my dining room, however the person who agreed to come this morning and paint has not shown up. Anyway.... As some of you know my husband of 35 years died in auto accident on April 5, 2014. April 21, 2016 will be our 37th anniversary. Today while working outside, I remembered times when we were young. I loved to read almost any type of novels, sometimes, while he was driving or watching TV. He did not like this and wanted my attention. This just popped into my head today and I cannot stop crying. I don't know why this came to me and I never know what will be next. This second year has been really hard for me. Much worse than the first. Prayer, meditation and all of you have been the saving grace for me. I read everything that is posted and I wish you all PEACE along this journey. Red

Old Hillbilly Wisdom:Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.Keep skunks, bankers, and politicians at a distance.Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled. The best sermons are lived, not preached. If you don't take the time to do it right, you'll find the...

There are times when the kookiest thing will come up and just leave you in a puddle of tears. I hate those. I still get them once in a blue moon. After 8 years, I think I have pretty much cried over everything under the sun - and over nothing, too!
I know it's not easy. Hang in there...
Love and Big Hugs,
Martha
And anyone who thinks that a man is not supposed to cry...try telling that to any guy who has seen combat.
I seriously wonder, if losing a spouse is a form of PTSD?
I find myself mentioning Al's name in many conversations and I see the looks on their faces, as if they don't want me to mention his name.
I find myself drawn to new friendships with widows who understand the pain of losing the love of your life.
I have lots of life to live but I am learning that it will be different. I ask God to walk with me every day and direct me where he wants me to be.
Now onto more really important stuff. Red, pray tell me, What color are you going to paint your dining room? ~~ Scottie
It's strange how all this works. When my wife passed everything was in a mess. We were struggling everywhere. And then we had no life insurance. All of a sudden things began to fall into place. Finances ironed out and resolved. God did this I sure didn't. You would think I would be completely relived and I was and am but at the same time it's bitter sweet. Because my wife isn't here to share that relief of things working out and so it has brought on it's own sort of sadness.
I don't think it's that we can't be satisfied, we just always had someone there to share these things with and now we don't.
Keep praying and keeping the faith we will get there some day with them.
Peace, Tim
Glad to hear you are having a better day today.
My mind wanders and drifts all over the place. And, here's the best part it's NOT getting better with this as the months pass, it's just getting worse.
I've tried books-on-tape and find myself pushing the back button over and over again because I didn't hear a word that was said.
For me the second year was very difficult, as well. The fog that protected me during the first year no longer existed and I was feeling, seeing and touching the reality of his death even more. I was feeling the loss of his presence with great magnitude now!
Take care of you,
Roz
