Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I get sad thinking though of what could have been, today its been hard to focus on what can be but its just one of those days. I want so hard for that to happen now.
I miss the eating our with him, sitting around our fire ring, dancing at Whistl' Jacks (haven't been there anymore), snowmobiling, riding the horses, arguing...BUT I can't change anything so I must go on.
Know that we were all blessed.
I am trying to think that "we DID have it all, this time", because never in our lives had we experienced a love so Strong, and so Beautiful.
It was cut way too short, our many future plans gone, but, yes, I am sure we had it all :)
Thank you for sharing,

Missing him so much tonight. Tomorrow it will be six months.
Well, Larry, didn't we almost have it all? Yep, we sure did, but it was not to be to the finish line. See you again one day. But until then, your ring remains on my hand and your love in my heart, as I come home alone in the dark at night, as I wake to a quiet house, and when I see something beautiful I can only tell myself about it.
Didn't we almost have it all........? Someday we shall my love...:)
Blessings~ Debbie
Hugs to all
You said it all. Me and my husband were in almost the same place as you and yours. My husband had just retired with full pension and health related social security at 57. He spent his time and money caring for the house; putting on a new roof, redoing the kitchen, besides caring for his elderly mother.
He wanted me to retire this year so that we could enjoy travel, time together, our lives. And then he died.
When I see those couples together, I can still cry. I can't go yet to restaurants, airports, Home Depot, without seeing them and wondering "Why not us?"
Yeah. We almost had it all.
