I tend to be a very upbeat positive person. Over the last few months I have had to deal with my Son being hit by an IED in Afghanistan and thrown from a tank, he suffered a minor concussion. This happened about a week before my husband Ernie past away. He knew something was wrong, so I told him about the our sons tank being bombed. He cried, and held me, he said, he felt so helpless, I assured him that his holding me was helping. I cried myself to sleep, when I woke up he said, "I promise you that (our son) will be home soon safe and sound. Then Ernie past away, and (our son) being a special ops medic couldn't come home for the funeral. Shortly after the funeral, I came to MI to assist my 87 year old Mom, she is slipping health wise rather quickly and asked me to come home.
Well here is the positive that was so clear to me: You see today is my 51st birthday. Just after Midnight I had a call from my son, he was on American soil back on his home base. I knew immediately that Ernie, pushed for him to get home on my birthday. It is the most awesome gift I have ever received in my entire life.
So just as Sandee is paying it forward. I went to pick up my Mom's prescriptions tonight. While I was waiting for her RX to be filled, I overheard a woman speaking to the pharmacist about the price of her RX. She said, to just fill 1/2 of the RX because it was going to be $50.00 more for the full RX. So I stepped up and when they asked if I had questions for the pharmacist I said yes, waited at the consultation counter, the pharmacist came over, and I gave him $50.00 and asked him to fill the entire RX. He smiled and said he sure would. I left immediately because I didn't want the woman to feel obligated or beholding to me. God Bless... Please try to keep in mind on the roller coaster ride we are on, that there are good days along with the bad...

That got me, because I have been that woman before.
I am glad that your son is home!!!!
Usually the people who help ( who are not necessarily well off ) have a very strong empathy for the actor - they have been in that same circumstance themselves sometimes.
I think we are all a lot more tender hearted now than we were before our loss. We really don't like to see people struggle.
Congrats to you Mary. You did a good selfless thing, got your son back in the states safe, and had a birthday. What is next? World peace, lol?
Seriously, a really good thing to do, and I can only hope that I would do the same thing if it came up :)
