"Call me if you need anything" must've heard this one a hundred times in the past 4 months. I am still the same independent man I was when Kim was alive and I really don't believe in asking for anything from anyone and most of them know this. Instead please come by have a cup of coffee and chill with me, sit down and talk with me. I could really use some company or someone to play with the dogs. Yes my knee needs to be replaced but I am managing cleaning house and doing laundry.
Even my mom is funny, I was having a real hard day left work early and went for a car ride, she called me while I was driving and tells me I shouldn't be driving. Then an hour later she asks me to come for dinner. Hello?!? Let's talk about my sisters, yes they have young children but they also have capable husbands and friends. Have they stopped by to see me since that first week? Only 1 of them has and that was only once. I know have been to each of their houses more than they have to mine.
Don't get me wrong, I love and appreciate my family and friends but it is a 2 way street. Anyone else notice stuff like this. Thank you all for letting me vent.

It's been just over a year since my husband passed. "Call me if you need anything" must be the biggest lie I've ever heard. Even after I told my Dad and my brother that I would appreciate a random phone call once in a while, nothing changed. It's frustrating. Even a few times I did reach out for help on things I couldn't do myself I had a hard time finding a willing body. I feel your frustration.
