Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 5 months ago and I've often read that once the shock wears off, usually around 5-6 months after the death, the grief increases. I . and I can attest that is the absolute truth. I have now cried approximately 150 days in a row, but whereas before I wasn't really able to summon up memories of my husband because I was still in shock (his death was sudden and unexpected) now it's the memories and the reality that he is gone that is so extremely painful. I don't usually pray, but I can only hope that at sometime our hearts won't be so heavy.
