I just found out my husband's cause of death was overdose. It is and isn't a suprise. He was an addict when he was younger. I guess he couldn't stand living anymore. He had such a depression. I'm so angry that he didn't ask me for help!!!! HE PUT ME THROUGH SO MUCH SHIT!!!! I'm lost for words. how do I go on knowing he took himself out. I'm so sad and heartbroken. So please give me advice how to move on after this knowledge I'm sick, Donna

Donna, I'm so sorry your having any guilt, we all have had those moments. You are not to blame, for someone elses choices. After all, isn't life all about our own choices. You did not do nor say anything wrong to cause or be the reason what happenned; happened to your husband Depression in men, is not fun, and unfortunately, many do self medicate. I'm so sorry that your husband passed away, and that you are having to deal with the afternath. We are all here for you, to talk to vent with, and just comfort you, during this time. My husband's 'drug of choice' was alcohol. I had no idea he had a problem until 10 days before the traffic accident that eventually took his life. Apparently he had had a problem from his early 20s (old friends recently told me he could always drink everyone else under the table). He was a hidden alcoholic (drank alcohol in secret etc), also suffered for years from depression.
I suppose he didn't consciously drink himself to his death, but anyway. . .I understand what you're going through.

thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts. I'm becoming better with time. It heals slowly though. my anniversary is Jan 11 so that day will be hard. Jan 19 is the 5 month mark. peace and hugs to all my friends Donna
