I thought it was just me!!!!.............I can't watch Jeopardy, Cash Cab and a few others I can't think of the names.
But, interestingly enough, I can watch Boston Legal. I have no idea why some of these "always watch together" shows I cannot watch but Boston Legal I can. It could be because my husband would laugh and laugh at Shatner playing Denny Crane.

Abby and I used to enjoy watching Jeopardy and trying to beat the answers, it was hard, they go so fast. That last night in the hospital we were watching it, I was holding her hand and then I noticed that she'd stopped participating, looking over i realized that she'd fallen asleep. I chalked it up to the change in her meds and decided to let her sleep since the next day she would be moving to hospice and it would be a trying day for her. I turned off the TV, cleaned up her room and went home to eat dinner. She never woke up. The hospital called me at 3:30 the next morning.
Every breeze, every flower, even nothing at all can make me think of her. I haven't watched that show since. Perhaps I could, perhaps not, it's just not that important to me.

Its only been 6 weeks for me. Oh my gosh, over the years we had so many but lately he was addicted to NCIS and he got me hooked. The one I enjoyed watching the most with him was S&%$ my Dad Says. I think it was only on for one season.. That was Mike to a tee. All of us watched it together. Mike would laugh out loud because he knew he was just like him. We also watched The Big Bang Theory. Our son is so like Shelton. We laughed and then would call Adam and tell him about the show. Adam didn't find the humor it in but we did.
Yes this really does stink.

Same for me...I havent watched tv going on 2 years next month..turned it off except for christian dvds...i just couldnt make myself..our normal shows without him...too heartbreaking. Ive been thinking of turning it back on...not quite ready yet....I havent really missed it...Debbie

me too, we used to watch ncis...even if it was a repeat...and reba..there were many shows we loved.....these are the hardest and i really cant watch them much yet...

Wow, thought it was just me. I haven't watched TV since Taki died. The kids have it on Disney and Nick most of the time. Taki and I loved Burn Notice, the Food Network, and Star Trek shows. I haven't even turned on the news since he died. My son asked me a couple of weeks ago why the flag someplace was at half mast. I said I didn't know. He said of course you don't, you don't turn on the TV. I don't know that I will ever be able to sit down on my couch and watch TV without Taki.

I also thought it was just me! I have not watched one American Idol this season, just could not make myself, we watched it together every season. I just did not have the heart for it. On the other hand, we always watched Bones together and I enjoy watching it still, I find myself thinking about what he would think or say about every episode. It makes no sense, but it's how it is.

Just tonight (big Sat. night) I was thinking that I never watch TV any more. When I do, it's the news and HGTV. Jerry and I always watched together (usually Crime Scene Investigation, LA Law and anything with a blonde in it ha ha ha) - (he had control of the remote at all times, perched on his stomach, and when he fell asleep, I tried to ''steal'' it away to watch HGTV , and he would wake up and SAY he wasn't sleeping. (men are weird)! I really didn't care about ''his shows'' - it was just that at the end of the day, we were together - albeit in front of the TV! I would never watch TV (we have others) by myself - that would be weird. I usually read while he watched. Now I'm just not into it. I can't watch the stuff and have no interest in plots. I also read 2 books at a time and magazines - go back and forth between different books. I think my brain froze or something!!! I NEVER knew what shows were on when - Jerry always new the channel and the time - that was his job. Funny the little stupid things we do!!! How did he feel me stealing the remote?????? will never get the answer for that!!!

I never used to watch much tv before I met Phil, but, he loved watching tv at night, mostly westerns, history, discovery, shoot em ups...I would always, sit nearby with my book.

We would together watch HGTV-house Hunters, American pickers, and Deadliest catch.
Our favorite show was Idol, and it was so hard watching the rest of this season without him,,,he wanted Scotty to win, and he did, and I am so glad that I did, watch it the end.

Weird thing, now I am addicted to the tv when I am home. Turn it on, when I come in, and only off, when I go to bed. Since Phil got sick, he really couldn't do much, except watch tv...so I think it is making me feel that he is still here. I am not in the room most of time, it is just background "music".

Of course, he is, he will always be with me.

OMG!!1 BOSTON LEGAL!!! Nextstep- I could NOT watch that show at all after, along with so many others, but especially THAT show! My husband bought me the box set for Christmas last year. His last gift to me. We would watch that show and record it, and have marathons just watching it! I had them all saved on the DVR, and then in December they all vanished. turned out It was him erasing them so the surprise would be better. I haven't been able to watch it since. He knew that I was 'in love " with BOTH Denny Crane and Alan shore!!! ;-) We had so many favorites. Big Bang Theory, and our youngest son IS Sheldon! lol And he doesn't see the humor in it either! ;-0, Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, Two and a half men, How I met your Mother, Mike and Molly, and so many others.EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND! We'd watch the Political shows on Sunday mornings, (his pick) and get into spirited debates about what was going on in the world. NOW?!?!? Haven't seen any of these. And couldn't tell you thing one about what's going on in the world. I tried once, but would look to his chair, or absent mindedly, reach back to hold his hand that's no longer there.

You are so right everyone....THIS STINKS!! BUT It's comforting to know I'm not the only one,who's lost touch with the TV world at night! lol

I MISS BOSTON LEGAL......AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MY HUSBAND!!!!

We were the world's worst dancers but we loved "So you think you can dance." I haven't been able to watch it yet at 6 months, nor Netflix on his big computer. We just would watch an episode of "Eureka" or "Warehouse 13" in the evening to relax. I read now.

Cliff loved "House" - or as he called it "Dr. Brain Parasite" - and we watched it together every week. I still can't watch it and I doubt I ever will. And I'm a huge Hugh Laurie fan going back years.

Sometimes I give myself permission to be that way. If I can handle so much else, I cut myself some slack that some things will always be off the menu.

Btw, Star Trek - the original 60's series - was one of the things I could watch with my sons after Cliff died. They hadn't seen it before, and they loved it. I couldn't watch any broadcast tv at all. I stopped watching the news, and couldn't face the romantic comedies, family sitcoms, coverage of disasters, etc. I was too torn up to be able to sit through that stuff. So me and the kids watched Star Trek and every action-adventure or WWII or submarine movie ever made. I took DVDs out of the library for free. If I was strong enough on any given day to hear the news, I could always get it online.

I guess I had plenty of drama in my life without "reality tv"......

We watched Dr. Who for years, and now that I'm in the UK, I get to see the episodes fresh. :)

We had two favorite show we watched together religiously!

The first was "NCIS". Love it! Love me some Gibbs! But, I can;t bear to watch it now without him. I catch it every now and then but it's not the same without him sitting beside me.

The second was "Amazing Race". i still watch it. I think it is because sometimes they go somewehre we had been and it brings back such good memories!

My husband's favorite shows of all time were Star Trek and Dr. Who. He was a science fiction buff, liked the history channel and How It is Made shows. Me not so much... We used to watch lots of movies and the poker tournaments together but now I just can't. Makes me too sad. Take care, Sandra

I know what you mean.. Ken loved Dr, Who.. We found his second hard drive is full of eppies he had downloaded to burn onto discs.. He had one folder that is all Dr. Who , Vampire movies , etc.. yuck.. We loved to watch Big Bang Theory together, CSI New York, Castle, The mentalist and we always watched Wipeout.. He would laugh at it and say these people are crazy or man would that hurt.. The first week he passed I couldn't put on the Mentalist or Castle and same with Wipeout.. The first time I did put on Wipeout I started to say Look at and I looked at his chair and it was empty.. I cried.. no one to share funny parts with.. I remember my Dad saying that when my Mum passed he would find himself going to ask her if she wanted a cup of tea and the chair was empty now I know what he ment.. I haven't watched any movies on the DVD yet, mainly because I can't figure it out but Sat, Night was Movie night for us.. We would get some Kobassa meat in some cheese and crackers or popcorn and he would download a new movie or two for us it's just not the same..
