This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
We share your pain. We all are developing a "new normal". Take care...Nancy

I told my oldest just now that never in a million years would I think my life would have turned out like this. I never would have imagined Rob to pass before he turned 41 leaving me heartbroken and alone.
Hoping & praying we all get through the tough days.
Pam
The last few July 4th's (before last year) were so much fun for us too. We had such plans and thought we had all the time in the world.
Take it easy on you. The days will come and go, although for me it felt (and feels) like each was a lifetime of emptiness in between.
Hugs, Susan
My Mom always used to tell me when I'd wish for time to go by fast that I was wishing my life away. Now I'm just wishing to get thru this pain. Hope today is a better day for you.........hugs to you,
Christine
Old Normal -I had to work. He'd spend a week or more in NC at his family reunion. Calling me on the cell phone. Telling me how good the food was, what new cousin he had just met.
Our Planned New Normal- I wasn't going to work this summer!!
I was going with him to the family reunion for the first time. Made plans in January. Couldn't wait!!!
New Reality- I spent the morning at the cemetery putting down new grass seed (again). Was invited to a barbeque with his friends. Thought of the couples. Didn't go.
PS If you do get to Wildwood let me know.
This July is 32 years together. Richard was always so proud of telling anyone who would listen just how long we had been married. Never saw any man so excited and into the wedding plans and the actual day.
Every time I look at our wedding portrait, I tell him it was the best day of my life. My wedding band brings warmth to my soul, for I remember the day he put it there.
I would never have thought that he would be gone at 58. He was always healthy, at least seemingly so. Its very hard to understand how a man as busy as he stayed, not taking any medicines, could go so suddenly and so fast. Yes, I miss him, and this month is rather a bummer. Joely
