I attended my first DS Gathering yesterday! It was wonderful to meet the great people who keep me going. Our hostess was the mostest and I met members from Louisiana, Tennesse, Arkansa, Ohio and Australia! What a great day with a great group. Thanks to all who attended. I highly recommend the Gatherings! Thopugh I was nervous about showing up at a stranger's door, I wasn't allowed to feel like a stranger for long. It is so good to meet people at the different stages of grief and get a look at how they are dealing with this turn of events. Thanks, all!

Hope you had s'mores. Wish I could have come this year. Thoroughly enjoyed the gatherins in Indiana and Ohio last year. Hope to attend another soon. Impossible to feel like a stranger once you walk into Trish's doors.

I could not make the Ohio gathering because I was traveling back to Colorado. I traveled through Ohio on the 15th and TJ met me at a Cracker Barrel out near I-70 so that I would not have to travel out of my route. I know for a fact that she had a ton of stuff to do to get ready for the gathering the next day but she took the time to meet me for a bite to eat and to talk. TJ is a very wonderful person as is everybody I have talked to here at DS but she treated me as though we had been friends forever. She also had a baggie of her cookies for me to munch on while I was traveling. They were very good and me and my little dog Pepper put on some extra weight because of them. I also had plans to visit with some other DS friends while I was back East but as I am from Colorado and not used to driving in rain very much I had to cancel some of them. I drove right into tropical storm Lee. Actually my wifes family had made plans that I did not want to have them change just for me because some of her family had to travel long distances to see me. TJ thank you very much for taking the time to meet with me and for the dinner and talk. Maybe someday we can have a gathering here in Colorado. I have the perfect place up at the cabin and there is a couple of Bed and Breakfast and hotels in Westcliffe about 6 miles from the cabin and there are lots of things to see and do around there. Just a thought. I know it is a long way for most to travel but it would be worth the trip, believe me. Thank you Trish for the hospitality.
