Fifteen weeks ago,I lost my husband of fifty years.I have been so miserable that I began therapy two weeks ago. The therapist is great, not too pushy, but it is obvious that she believes that soon I should begin getting invoolved with people/life again. All of my family is out of state, though the daughters did see their father about two weeks before he died. I have great neighbors who have invited me numerous times for dinner drinks etc. and there are others who call who want to meet for luinch or just get together. I have refused all of this and have no desire to be with other people. Tom and I were extremely close and did everything together, so much that people used to tease us about it. I have no interest in anything and if I didn't have to walk the dog ,I think I would rarely leave the house.I have followed the discussions on DS for weeks, but I feel like I am regressing. I have to force myself to eat and can't remember the last time I ran the vacuum. Life has no purpose to me and I am angry about being the one left behind. I have been on an antidepressant for several years , but nothing has ever been like this. I still reach for him when I wake in the morning. Everyone says it gets easier, but I have not found that, What now? Betty
