Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband passed just over 2 years ago. He also had a long, horrible battle with cancer.
It will help you, in your grief to vent and share your thoughts here. Please take care of yourself......gentle hugs, Sandra
Be kind to yourself. Take things as you are able, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. The memories will come pouring back to you in time, and that will be good.
Hope, Blessings, Peace and Prayers for you for today and for all those that are hurting..... Mark
I, too, lost my husband to cancer; he was diagnosed in September and gone the following March. Since then, I have also lost other family members to cancer. It has been six years for me - sometimes, it seems like yesterday; and, other times, so long ago. I found a widow and widowers group that met at a local hospital about seven months after my husband passed. Just being with others who understood the profound loss was a great help to me. Friends and family mean well, but unless you have traveled this road, you truly cannot understand. Keep coming here for support; you will find people who truly care. Roxanne
I am so sorry for your loss . I too lost my husband due to cancer. His battle started in 2013, and he was re-diagnosed at the end of January this year. After a lot of treatment and surgery he had no signs of cancer at the end of June, but at recheck on August 5th it was widespread with new large tumors. We were told 6-12 months at that time, the next week we were told it would be probably by the end of the year. He died 25 days after that recheck. On August 5th. I am a hospice nurse, and no matter how much you deal with dying and death... Nothing prepares you for the loss of your spouse, your partner, your best friend.
I too am hoping to find strength and support through this group. I am truly sorry you lost your husband and are going through this. There are no words to say that can comfort you, I know this. People ask "what can I do ", and I have replied that the only thing I want they can't give me. I
I have seen by this group that there are others who feel as I do, that I'm not losing my mind or feeling out of the "norm". I hope you keep coming here for support. I am new as well, but hopefully together we can pull each other through this terrible darkness.
