I just found this group and I am looking for people to talk with who are in the same situation as I am.  I lost my husband of almost 27 years on june 30 2014. He was 55 and died of a heartattack right in front of me. Since then it seems as though the only people that want to communicate with me are half of my children and my family. All friends and his family have seemed to disappear.

Sad, but that seems to be a common occurrence. I think it is for a couple of reasons. They don't want to be reminded of their own mortality. And they just don't know what to do with us. It has been said many times here that we all end up getting new address books. Welcome to this group where we with little strength pull together and help one another get through the toughest thing life could ever throw at us. Talk about shaking us to our core. Hang onto the hope that someday you will rise again from the ashes of a life no more. At least I do. ~~~ Scottie

Hi Uniz,

I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband just passed away on 02/28/17. He too was 55, although mine died of cancer, but I was holding his hand when he passed. Not sure how his family will respond to me i. The coming months. I'm sorry for what you are going through. I'm honestly so sick and tired of people telling me that it's too difficult for them to handle!!!!!! I don't have a choice!!!! It just ticks me off to no end. I wish us some peace and comfort. We are here for one another...

I certainly found out he was the glue to the family. It makes me feel like I gave my life to his kids and family for nothing. Our love was the strongest love anyone could ever have and our lives were blended and hard from the beginning. I thank God everyday that we had the time we did and we were so happy touring the country together in the military. That was our extended family. Thank everyone who serves?

It is hard to move on. We have a friend who I talk to once in a while but without my husband around I feel like I am cheating on him when I talk to our friend.

My son in law is in the military- Air Force. I have a friend who i talk with and as much as I love talking to him, I feel the same. Moving forward just sucks. I hate this so much. I hate it but I keep hearing that time helps. Not a lot but it helps.

It does but it takes awhile. I feel like I can try to be myself in some ways but I don't know if I will be able to have another relationship. Right know I am looking for friendship and conversation. By the way GO AIR FORCE as that was the branch my husband was in too
