I have a woodstove in my kitchen -- the only heat source there -- and my husband loved it. Last year when he was hospitalized, I had to learn how to use it, which was not as easy for me as it probably should have been. When he came home for his final journey, he wanted a fire In the woodstove almost every day well into June. So, this winter, which is so cold and stormy, I am better at making the woodstove heat properly (more or less) but find the constant trips to the woodshed to carry in armloads of wood to be exhausting. The only bright spot is in thinking how my husband would be both pleased that I am doing it and also amused at how grumpy it can make me,
I know how hard this can be and how lousy it is that you have to do it on top of all the other heartaches of this grief path. But you are succeeding and moving forward -- and that is so great!
Please give yourself a lot of credit and know that you are strong!
Peace,
Valie
I can't imagine how I'd survive in the climate I live in without it! Nor would I want to!
We had a woodburner at Morey's lake house........I NEVER had the privilege to learn how to use it!
I'm sure Ray is smiling down on your abilities to keep yourself warm!
