My Wife, My Friend, My Faith

While I know that this is not a discussion group on theology or religion, my journey of grief has led me to a profound awakening to the spiritual aspect of my life. I have learned that many of my friends here at DS have had a relationship with God and have been strengthened by Him during this painful time in Their lives. My bride Barbara, was not only my wife, she was my best friend. This morning, I came upon a video of a song on You Tube that I am linking to. If a focus on God and the spiritual aspects of your own grief offends you in any way, I apologize and suggest you not follow the link. I wish I could keep faith in God, but I can't help thinking that God could have saved us from this pain and suffering, by allowing my kind, compassionate and loving husband - father of my four children - to continue living. He did so much for other people. I prayed every day after his cancer diagnosis for God to allow him to live, but he died even before the prognosis date. I still have yet to receive any sort of sign that he's with me. I wish I could believe he will be waiting for me and that we'll see him again, but it's hard.

Thank you so much! Although my love has been almost gone for 7 years, September to middle of October has always been difficult to get through. Too many anniversaries etc.
