I have been off line - drove Thurs to Boise, Idaho to see new grandson. It was very nice, good roads long trip - 6 hours from my home in WA. And while there visiting playing with 2 1/2 yr old and baby plus family was very nice.
I realized while there how much there was going on in general. Thats when I realized where I now live is not a good thing - very rural mt setting which with my husband was our dream place...alone not so much.I mentioned that to my son I was worried if I move I would not know many people while neighbors here do come and help. They work sometimes long hours what would I do - my SON said Mom you will find new friends you always do....SIGH
BUT with this economy selling my 5 acres and home will be a challenge. I do wish I could find the right room mate but the nearest town is 42+ miles away where someone would work so .....
I drove away from Boise, and cried for the first several miles, realizing I am going home alone by myself - I could not ease my sadness so just cried.
I know others here have felt some of the same thing: sadness being alone, loneliness IT SURE SUCKS thats for letting me vent.

The drive home never was and still isn't easy fo me. Always thinking, and the worst time of the visit anywhere.

Hang in there my friend. REALLY hope the house will sell, and you can get closer, and have more people around.

The long ride home though was a time of reflection on how lonely your life is now. Of course, that made you sad. ;-(
I hope you will be able to sell and move closer to town or closer to your son, whichever you want to do. I'm sure you will find something to do and make new friends, too.
And, yeah, loneliness sucks! Then, again, learning to be alone and becoming content, is certainly a challenge! A challenge that we all face now. It does come, after grief work and time.
