My husband committed suicide at the age of 50 on Feb. 25. I'm so devastated. I have an online support group and I see a therapist but I didn't think I was going to be a widow at 42. I have so much anger and I'm dreading the holiday season.

I think most of us share your grief over the holidays this year. I am trying to skip it as much as possible. Working, no decorations, I even change the radio when Christmas music plays. I'm 29 and a "widow" it's not easy no matter what age. We lost someone we were suppose to spend the rest of our lives with.

I absolutely agree. I put up the decorations for my two boys. They really wanted it and they've endured enough. We have lost someone we thought would always be there. It's devastating and my friends are trying to help me, but sometimes, I just want to be left alone. I feel like they can't really understand me because they haven't been through it.

It hurt me so bad when both my parents and in laws came after the accident. They both have been married for over 30 years...... how was that suppose to make me feel? I have had my husband for 12.. he was my high school sweetheart and he ment more then anything to me. Due to not having kids it is much easier for me to skip the Holidays, my entire family lives two states away from me and it just easier that way. I figure because I'm working, I can just treat my offiers/subordinates to pizza for working Christmas and move on. No doubt is it going to be hard for you but unfortunately we will make it because we have no choice.

I can relate. My parents have been married for 57 years. My in laws don't talk to me or to the kids after the suicide, so we lost my husband, the boys' father, plus the entire side of his family.

That's really unfortunate and I'm so sorry to hear about your great loss. Mine is quite opposite. My in laws loved their son so much that they don't want to loose a daughter. They call and check up on me everyday and plan on moving to my state this coming fall to help out. It's so strange how we can (in this group) have so much in common in regards to our situation but still be so different. I could not imagine having to live through the suicide of my love. My heart breaks for you. My story is slightly different. Matthew and I were ready to take our marriage to the next level by looking at purchasing a home. We went out with our realtor on a rainy day and got stuck on a very long and narrow driveway in the middle of the woods. My husband go out to see how we could turn the truck around and a tree fell on his head. As a first responder I not only tried talking him through breathing but had to conduct CPR. I was in such denial.... I'm just an average joe... this shit don't happen to me! It took a long time to come to terms that he was no longer around. I would wake-up hoping to see him in bed next to me and then I'm forced back onto reality.
