Sounds like you have a full plate with your job and mom with dementia. Not easy on a good day, let alone on top of grief. My husband had dementia in the end months and often times I thought I was the "insane" one. It's a frustrating caretaker position to be in. Be sure that you take time to take care of "you"!! Often we negate our own needs in lieu of taking care of others. If you are like most of we caregivers, it is in your nature and hard to discipline taking care of self as well, yet most important for your own well being.
Hang in there, you are stronger than you think. I'm sending you lots of positive healing thoughts and energy. Dayna
Your pain is so raw, you have to give yourself lots of time to grieve.
I understand about the football game. My husband was a huge Steeler fan all his life. After he passed away in July I couldn't watch the preseason games without sobbing. He should have been sitting here with me, wearing one of his many Steeler shirts, yelling at the t.v.
We're here for you, you are not alone.
Hugs,
Janie

I myself, also work part time, from home. I find myself in a frequent fog, some days are foggier than others. Some days are blessedly sunshiny.
I am thankful I found this site and have been following the posts for a few weeks now but felt I just had to reach out to you because of the similarities. Because of this, I just joined Daily Strength.
But now the fog is lifting and I am sadder and cry more often. My son who is single came to spend 4 days with me and it was wonderful. I had someone to cook for; someone else in the house, etc.
I just want to feel happy again, as we all on this site want to feel. I don't think there is a quick fix. I feel like my life is over. All our retirement plans are gone, those road trips, working in our garden, etc.
I am so sorry that we are all dealing with this. It is something I thought would never happen and that Al and I would grow old together.

We need to take our time with this "grief" thing and not expect too much from it.
The changes in our heads and bodies will just have to be for now.....I won't try to chase the blues away.....we're on this ride together. I'll hug you, if you'll hug me!
