Sam's best cooking endeavor was beef stew ... or chicken stew ... or turkey ... or ...

But I don't think he ever made it exactly the same twice! Whatever produce was available in the fridge would become an ingredient in the stew ... and it was always yummy!

I miss his culinary creativity!

My husband was a wonderful cook and loved to grill. He would do elaborate dishes and make a big ole mess for me to clean up. I miss those messes and the food. I rarely cook any more, not worth the effort for just me.

Our dogs do eat well...

All my husband ever made was coffee, and then he didn't do that until the last few years. I have gotten to where when I go out to eat, I get my little dog something and bring it home for him to eat. As he usually eats with me. So, I cook extra for him. What's the difference? He is my companion now. It makes him happy, when he is happy, I am happy.

Cliff made the best breakfasts - crepes, perfect omelettes, Swedish pancakes (platter) - but was generally a disaster in the kitchen otherwise. I think the worst was his attempts at making a vegetarian meatloaf with lentils - the kids still talk about that one it was so bad! I miss his breakfasts though. Oh and his grilled cheese sandwiches - they were awesome. Breakfast has never been the same.....

you all put smiles on my face, precious memories of our loved ones. As you say it brings me great pleasure to see my dog enjoying her dinner, she always ate with us.

My husband was a fantastic cook and he made dinner for us most nights. Towards the end, he was really into eating healthy and organic things. Now, I hardly cook at all. Most of the time I eat cereal or scrambled eggs - LOL!!!

My Honey wasn't much for cooking except he did have a couple "signature" recipes/ One we named Mike-a-roni & cheese and it is amazing. But his big thing was grilling. I hardly cooked in the summer. He would grill any time I asked. I look at the grill now and I'm thinking it might just go to the curb when the weather warms up. I really don't think I could ever eat steak again. Most of the flavor came from love.

My husband was an excellent cook and should have went to culinary school. He loved to grill and he made the best steak and potatoes. He also made good deep fried mushrooms.

I sold all his grills (he had three) because I am scared to cook with gas or flame. I'm afraid I would catch something on fire, namely me. I really miss those steaks.

Before we retired My husband got home before me so he cooked dinner every night. He grilled a lot and it was wonderful to have dinner prepared.

Good for you. I am sure he is proud.. I still can not cook. Period. It hurts so much. And when I go out to eat, I never ever order the something we always did. Always something different. It is so painful. I am happy you were able to take this step and come out with a smile.
