My Christmas Letter 2010

This year my only Christma letter goes to my DS family. This has been the worst year of my life with the passing of my beloved Pat so unexpectantly.
Without you, my DS family, to vent to, talk to, and just listen to me, I'm not sure I would be at this stage. I am having Christmas dinner here, just 8 of
us, but all family and that is what counts the most. I have decided to let people bring food, they always ask and I always refused. I will do the turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce and one dessert, appies too, the others can bring the rest. I am having issues with the table seating as I don't want to see Pat's chair empty nor do I want to see someone else sitting there, maybe a buffet style is best. I work 10 hours on the 24h and 12 hours on the 26th so I hope to get most of my tidying and last minute things done today. I wish for all of us, a peaceful holiday season with 2011 being a healing time for us all. For those of you just starting on this new journey there is hope, I am at 10 months now and managing. Speaking only for myself.....2010 has too been the worst year of my life. I understand about the seating at the table. Somehow it has just worked out. My son flatly refused to sit in Jim's seat and by default my SIL has taken the place at the head of the table. I couldn't bear the "empty" seat and, though it took my breath away at first, somehow seeing it filled has become OK. The buffet idea sounds like a wonderful compromise until it is time for another to sit there.....maybe you? Peace to all of us and a hope that 2011 will be a time of even more healing.

I must agree all those here have been a blessing to me. True Christmas is about family and love, but I've done everything possible trying to avoid any plans. However for the first time since my daughters were born only two of us will be together this year. I have not decorated nor will we exchange gifts. We're just going to have a family day, my daughter mother and I, with finger foods, movies preferably comedies. This will also be my mothers first xxmas without my dad. Im a little nervous being it's a 6 hr round trip which incudes two trips over snoqualmie pass. I'm hoping the wheather permits the trip to go get her. Wishing everyone here warm heartfelt Christmas wishes. Sue

2010 has been the worst year I ever had. So many terrible things happened, so much tragedy. 2011 might be better, I don't know, I don't have any great expectations. I'll probably just hang around the house in my pjs.

Ken I agree this yr is the pits, I guess I have to believe 2011 eventually will be better. WIth God help I pray so

it is wonderful for you to be having family with you, and i completely understand about the empty seat!

Well obviously since i am only 20 days into this hell, i definately feel 2010 is the worst ever. As for the holidays i am fumbling through, for my children and grandchildren. Christmas day will mark exactly 25 days without my hubby, and i have no idea how to get out of bed that morning. We always had lunch for Xmas,(hubby would insist we eat early) but this year, we will be doing dinner, because both my sons have to work. Probably better that i have some alone time that morning. I am still praying that God decide I may join him, sooner than later. But I know my childrens holiday seasons are already soured for the future,with their daddy spending Thanksgiving in the hospital and passing before xmas. So I will go through the motions, and attempt to make some sort of memory for the grandbabies. Although nothing will be o.k without papaw.
