This is an update for those of you who wanted to know how my new dog and I are doing. Amigo is 1 and a half years old, terrier type, white, black, and silver. She loves to be held and actually hugs me back! My cat (who adopted me) is starting to realize the dog is staying, though she sleeps and is hanging out on top of the tv cabinet. Amigo didn't have a good start on life as she was described as being unwanted. She is not potty trained for outside as she pees on pads. I can live with that till she learns to go out side for good. I'll keep her either way. She doesn't know the concept of playing or having toys. She barks at cats, but is already learning not too, as I've been working with her on that. She loves to go for walks. She was afraid of going in the car but we've been working on that too. Now she's isn't afraid of me abandoning her after being in the truck. It took me a while to convince her to come up to me when I called her. She used to duck her head and stay a couple of feet from me, so I'm assuming someone abused her. I KNOW someone abused her, and I know how she feels, so I'm accepting her as she is and we'll grow together helping each other. She likes hugs as much as I do!
