when is really ok to move on? should i feel guitly that my husband has been gone since july 13th and recently been seeing a guy. though it started out as drunken night. he also happens to be my best friends uncle. im not sure if i should be or not. i really to enjoy him beinging around. my son which is 6 was in the accident that took his father along with other family. he ok with it. he really does like him. my son been saying for awhile now that he wants a guy around. i know its cause he misses his daddy. no one will ever replace his daddy. i feel better with him around. i dont feel like i need to drink all the time. or that i really wanna give up. im just afraid it wont work out and make me feel like im lost and hopeless. ive been to the point that i about checked myself in a place.

I have experienced so much guilt since losing my husband and daughter, I could qualify as an honorary Catholic. It helps no one and changes SFA.
Instead of wasting any energy on that, do what it takes to be sober, for yourself and your son. If you are thinking you need help, you do and I applaud your courage and insight. Get healthy first and then worry about the rest.
Local hospices have wonderful programs for kids who have experienced a loss. My granddaughters go to groups there with other grieving children, and in the summer they attended a camp free of charge, and there are other ongoing activities. I hope they have something like that in your area. Your son would really benefit I am sure. Since we didn't use a hospice, I never would have known except for a school counsellor.
I am sending you healing energy and a big hug.
Best wishes. ((()))
