Like tons of other people - I'm having enough trouble now but when my dtr stops getting Soc. Security in June I'll really be in big trouble unless I can have something happen to change things.
Anyway, in my search to figure out what to do I learned about a new program recently begun by Obama that I wanted to pass on for anyone it might help. (I can't qualify myself - unfortunately.)
So - I was told at a CEDA office that any homeowner who experiences a 25% or more loss of income can apply for a program where the gov't will pay you $25,000. The money MUST be used to pay mortgage - and it is not a loan - none of it has to be paid back. They are hoping this will help cut down on foreclosures. Hope this might help someone. Program will continue until it runs completely out of money.

After we combined our 2 mortgages several years ago it was $2400, then last year with taxes it went up to $2650 and now I am about to go online to pay $2900 - insane. Taxes are skyrocketing even tho my house is going down. Good luck I know taxes are horrible in NY - I grew up there.
