one of our sons is in the hospital so when I came up yesterday. I had a flood of memory's . Same hospital they brought Tommy to the nite he passed away. And today my son is having surgery on his prostate, wishing tommy was here for me to lean on:(

right now I am setting in hospital cafeteria with my grand daughter. The night Tommy passed away, he coded at the house and coded again on the way to the hospital , They put him in ICU and they told me if he coded again, he would not make it:( and they had shift change and in icu, you can not be in there when they do shift change so I walked down to cafeteria with family, made sure nurse had my cell phone number and I was setting right here :( when my phone rang and the little nurse said "honey, he coded again and there was nothing we could do" ....I started

screaming :( and took off running to get to him.

memorys hurt :(

Revisiting the hospital where my husband struggled with cancer was hard for me too. I found so many triggers that brought me pain. He died at home and I actually moved my bedroom to our living room and shut the door. I hope your son has a good outcome to his surgery and I am here to listen when you need me. Sharon

Sending prayers for you and your son. Definitely understand the hospital being a trigger. Even now when I set foot in the hospital where my wife passed memories will creep back into my consciousness. Big Canadian hug sent your way. Gerry

I would be apprehensive to return to the same hospital and the ICU as well. It brought back memories of those stressful times. Hugs to you, and well wishes to your son's recovery.

Patti, first of all, in praying for your son' recovery and health. Since Ben passed, I've been to his treatment hospital a few times....it never fails to trigger every detail of Ben's treatment.
That became his 2nd home for 2 and a half years. Praying for you Patti, it must be difficult

Patti, I know this is hard, and I know it feels scary and unfair. Your son is not there for the same reason, and I hope that helps a little with your anxiety. My Dad died in the same hospital where my son was born 6 weeks later. Going back there, even for something wonderful, was not easy. You will get through this, and I will say a prayer for you and your son's family. Love and Big Hugs, Martha

I'm feeling a trigger just reading this...i'm so sorry you have to revisit the hospital, but i'm glad it's there for your son and I hope all goes well for him. Stay strong dear heart.

What a horrible way to hear it...I was at the hospital for almost 54 days and nights i came home to actually sleep when my son had to come tell me his Dad had passed away ..while i was sleeping..
