Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I understand the lack of support as time goes on, people do get back to their own lives. Take heart that you have your son standing by you. I too have a son but he lives 2000 k's away. My daughter is closer but, like you comment, I don't want to wear her out with my worries.
You say you have the Lord in your life, that is a wonderful thing and I too believe. It has and continues to be very difficult to understand why these things happen so unexpectedly but leaning on the Lord has helped me a little. I do try now and read a devotion, a prayer or a bible verse before getting out of bed in the morning, I find it does help.
I have also joined a support group, the jury is still out on that one.
Take care and take heart, much love, K xx
I cry every day, but I also laugh every day. I pray and lean on the Lord.
And I sing...wonderful praise songs, and lost and lonely love songs.
I don't think this is 'something ill get over', love doesn't end because someone dies; but I also realize that I'm not the 1st woman whose husband died. This is a natural part of life. I believe this IS what I signed up for when I took my vows.
I'm trying to stay grateful and keep my expectations small. When things go wrong, and believe me everything went wrong last week ( see mad journaling about DMV) I actively seek opportunities to laugh at, or to be grateful for. I am not in control of all things, or even most things.
I work at having a good attitude. No, it doesn't work every minute of every day,....but it does work.
Any other ideas? I'm listening.
