So - where are all our midwesterners? Did everyone notice the south had a post and there were 20-some responses - yet our Midwest area only had me and the person who is holding the BBQ and one other person!! Come on all you midwestern people.

We want to get a more definite count of who is coming and who may think it is possible they will come. This is July 17 and July 18. Some will be staying at the Super 8 Motel - which is $75/night. (Two people are coming for both Friday and Saturday night). This will be near Valparaiso which is about 1 hour from Chicago. If someone needs a ride please let us know.

So - all the rest - please respond - so we have a better idea of how to plan food. etc. This will be a nice, fun, expensive time together. Respond either to this or send me a message.

I'm in Missouri now, but spent 8 years in Alabama. Will you hold the Southern thing against me? If not, I may have to consider this!

to Wannabebe - Are you willing to take that risk? Only 8 yrs in Alabama? Your still a Northerner (or midwesterner) We hope you can come.

Best guess would be to use mapquest from your address to the Super 8 Motel in Valparaiso, IN.............if you google super 8 you can get that address...........can't remember where you are coming from in KY..........but I think probably I-65: however my sister and I were dubbed Lewis and Clark and it wasn't because we knew where we were going...lol........from the motel my house is easy..........will get that out to those who are coming.............we can even meet in Valpo for those of you who are coming in on Fri...............

Would love to come but have prior a commtment!!! It would be worth the long (8-9 hr) drive to finally meet. Can I take a rain check and be included next time?

There are several people who said they would like to come but the date isn't working out. Maybe we can plan another in the future.

We still need more MEN - only have one so far!! This should be a fun weekend. Some are staying at the Super 8 for both Fri and Sat. BBQ on Sat and Indiana Dunes on Sunday. I'm staying just Sat. or you can come for just the day - Saturday or Sunday.

For me this will be a time to get away from family and friends who are driving me crazy - and be at a place with a working shower!!!

Is Kansas considered mid-western? More like no mans land, or Oz maybe? Sorry that I won't be able to make this event. I'll have to keep my eyes open for future events. I may be able to plan better if I have enough time.

Hi Tim- Sorry you can't make this. We've already talked about possibly holding another one since several people have mentioned it. You don't need to be midwestern either - this is open to anyone and everyone. There is another one in the south if you check previous posts.
