Oh nice. I have a recording of Rob when he called into the local rock station and was the employee of the day. He sounds full of life, excited and his upbeat self. . It was a year prior to his diagnosis. I was so upset that I lost somehow a voicemail message from him, I don't remember and can't imagine accidentally erasing it, he was kidding with me when I was at work and couldnt' answer my cell. He said " Donna, where are you?" It was right before he lost the words to speak. Wish I had it though. I have only listened to the recording 3 times. Each time I smile. I only played it when I was feeling strong though. Hug, Donna

Isn't that the coolest thing to find? I came across a DVD about 5 mos ago that was the same sort of thing. A photojournalist had done a documentery on us related to our adoption of two sons from Liberia. I knew there were pictures of Jeff on it, so I played it one day when I was having a particularly hard time. What I had forgotten was that there was voice-over from both of us on there and it warmed my heart to hear it. Even better, there was ~15 minutes of Jeff talking that never made it to the final version, but was on the uncut version I had on DVD. I'd never played it before, so that was a real treat. Yes-technology is wonderful--especially when our spouses find a way to send us a smile through it!

Technology is a wonderful thing...I have several video's of Buddy that we did to send via email to the grandkids in Florida...and my favorite is when he was singing with his nephew in the garage pretending to be a rock star!

I have a video of Todd that was made for last Christmas. Sometimes military guys get lucky and get the chance to send one home for their kids. He is there in full gear with war torn Iraq in the background. I will play it for my kids when they are older.......much older. Kaaren

I have some great videos of vacations, my son, and our first granddaughter. Just hearing his voice is such a comfort. My favorites are of our only grandchild, a granddaughter. We kept her 5 days a week since she was 2 mos. old and DH loved being her Paw. She named us Nanny and Paw. They were kindred spirits and he videoed and narrated her at play and took hundreds of pictures. She loved to jump and do tricks on our bed and there's a great one with him narrating it. She was 4 when he passed away and we don't show them to her yet because she misses him so much and still goes through periods of crying. When she gets older they will be there for her. One of his main concerns was that she might forget him. There's no chance of that anyway, but we reassured him we'd make sure that didn't happen. We have others of wonderful trips and cruises. Those are truly treasured memories. Take care.

That is so great....I know how you feel about that one because I found one of Norm's phone messages............even had it put on a cd...haven't been able to listen to it yet but just knowing I can is good...........

Joe's voice is still on my answering machine. "Marsha and I can't come to the phone right now....". I know it freaks some people out, but I just can't erase it. Plus he's the voice on my cell phone. I like it. These are the only recordings I have of his voice. Hugs, Marsha

I don't have any video tape's or voice message's however, I am a picture fanatic. I love taking pictures all the time and have lots and lots. I am so glad because my two year old son is to little to remember his dad. With all my picture's I can show him and tell him how much his dad loved him.

I'm so glad to hear (no pun intended) that others have also saved phone messages etc. I had three saved messages, accidently deleted one :o( but also have our wedding video. I have not been able to watch it yet, but I will, maybe in Nov on what would have been our 7th anniversary.

The idea brings tears to my eyes. I don't have any messages from my wife because I spent the last weeks with her (since diagnosis),
which I cherish. What I do have are all the old videos from her previous life I need to get onto DVDs. She'd watched those months ago and it broke her up watching her little kids with her. Not sure if they'll be able to watch these now. Maybe later.

I have something precious. My hubby went to heaven 2 years ago it has been very hard, my best friend.

He called me from work one nite said when u have time go to the little keychain reminder recorder i had gotten him for a joke the previous Christmas so he would not forget important things. I was busy i forgot about it and so did he.

After he passed a few weeks later i saw it sitting there i very very carefully pushed play (not record to erase) it.

He used to talk like a baby duck and cracked us up so cute clear too. He sang a few words of an old rock song in the little duck voice " You are my special Angel from up above" and said he loved me the whole world.

This is my most treasured possession now I made a few copies of it too in case the battery would die and it would not work again.

He was a very sweet man. You can imagine what it meant to me that night here alone and missing him.
