Val, I'm with you. Even though there may not be marriage in heaven, and I'm not convinced of that, there is still enduring love. I believe in "soul mates" and unending love. We are all one in heaven, but my wife I were one here too.

Well if we become one in marriage, why would we be separated in heaven. Really is not logical. There will be no new marriages in heaven according to the preacher I read. I am counting in being with the love of my life in heaven, he was a gift to me and I believe God will not take that gift back. Just my feelings.

I believe that when we get to Heaven we will be with our spouses, but in a different way, a spiritual way...I believe that we will truly become one. Shortly before my grandmother passed away back in 2000 my uncle said that she told him she had felt my grandfather's spirit stronger than ever...at the time, I felt like it was him coming to take her with him...
The scripture(s) that say there will be no marriage in Heaven...I interpret that to mean that there will be no new marriages occurring in Heaven, but the marriages that occurred here on earth will remain for eternity.

I'm sorry for your recent losses, jenwilkins...losing a grandmother is very painful. How long have you been a widow?

jenwilkins09 - If you read the title of the group, Widows and Widowers, you shouldn't have to ask that question. I hope one of the CL's see your posts here, because frankly I find you to be very disrespectful. Again, I'm sorry for your losses...but his is the wrong group for you.

Back to subject . . . Marriage in heaven? I can only assume we all guess at what may be until we get there on the other side. My mantra is whatever you "believe" in is golden and prolific to each individual.

I believe that marriage is built to last throughout eternity and not all this "till death do us part" crap. There must have been something that was in the back of our minds when we got married and opted to write that line out of the vows. I think it is one of those archaic lines like the promise to "obey" UGH!
