Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
"Grief never ends, but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.
It is the price of Love." Take care
When this worst of nightmares hits us, it blows our entire world to pieces. Nothing can ever be the same again, nor does anything feel normal in any way. Please try to eat at least a little, even though you may have very little appetite, and drink plenty of fluids. There is a high anxiety level that accompanies a sudden tragedy like we have experienced. None of what you are going through may seem real to you at times. That anxiety builds each day, and the tears are what helps to calm, and slowly heal you.
Slowly, and unevenly, you will begin to recover some of your strength, and regain interest in activities, that, at this moment in time for you, may seem pointless in the midst of this life altering nightmare you are just beginning to travel through. This will take time. Many here know the horror of what you are experiencing. Right now, just do each step one by one. Know that you are never alone. Lean on us, we really do know how it feels. Hang on, you will get stronger over time.
Our prayers are with you, your daughter, and your family
