Well here you will be able to find someone to talk with. We all have walk the walk of feeling lonely. I have lost my husband to Cancer over 3.5 years ago and even though I have a big family and a good group of friends, while surrounded by them at one time or another , I felt lonely. I missed my husband and seeing the others with their spouse made me miss him that much more. I found that they could not relate to me as they had not walk my walk. here posters can relate and can share some of the same feelings. Hopefully this place will give you an outlet for talking/sharing.

I know what you mean. I feel lonely too especially whenever my daughter and I go out and we see complete families hanging out. I have friends who ask me for a night out but I am not yet in the state to hang with them. They do not know how I'm feeling and what I am going through. I guess, the only ones who can understand us are the those who have also lost their husbands or wives too. That's why I am glad I found this group. I pray that you will get over your loneliness and that someday find happiness with someone.

I am so sorry for your loss - and want to say that if at all possible, try to find a "meetup" group near you for widows and widowers. Look on Meetup.com and put in your zip code, and something may be there. If not, you can try and do what I did, which was start a meetup group for widows and widowers. I started it six months after my wonderful husband passed away, because I knew in my heart that as great as my friends and family are, unless they were widowed, they would not be able to help me heal. So what started as a meeting of 6 people in April, 2015 in a coffee shop, has grown into 200 people who are local to my area, and who come out to dinner, trivia contests, bowling, karaoke (just listening, not singing lol). And while it's the club that nobody wants to be in, it makes all the difference in the world knowing that you are not alone. I hope you find a group or start a group near you :)

That's a really good idea to start a meet-up group of widows and widowers. I have a small group I met in Hospice of 4 other women that I am really close with we help each other with things our husbands would have helped us with. There are no words to describe the incredibly empty and painful loss I felt and feel being without my husband of 38 years we were together 40 years since I was 19. I lost him to stage four melanoma 1 year and almost 5 months ago. How did all that time pass. I used to miss him if we didn't see each other for a day. My support group and the little part time job I started in addition to my regular job helped me get by. Friends and family have no idea what to do. Just as I didn't before I was unfortunate enough to become a widow myself. Wishing you all strength and wonderful experiences for all of you in each coming day. Sending hugs xx000

So sorry for your loss. My husband passed 2.7 years ago and still feel that emptiness. This is a wonderful forum to share what is going on because we all get it. After my husband died, I knew I had to keep engaged in life because I had no family nearby. So I volunteer, take classes, joined a church, joined a meet up group and visit someone on hospice care. People always say the evening is the hardest, but for me it is the morning when you first wake up and have to face the day again. Much peace to you....
