As I'm getting to know just me, it's intimidating sometimes, but I'm taking my time getting to know myself. He was the more likable of the two of us, so finding what I like about myself and finding people who like just me is different. It's a challenge.
My best to you, Trici
I do understand the feeling tho. I didn't meet Mike til I was 41 so there was alot of ME already. But he was super popular and loved by anyone he met. I call it Pied Piper of People. So I lost Nancy and became Mike's wife . But he's not here now so I have to be Nancy again. I know she's still in there and she will come back...definitely changed from her life w/ Mike but hopefully it will be The New & Improved Nancy.
Many hug and much love ox
It is the way of life. There is something about tests and trials act like sandpaper to smooth out the rough edges on our spiritual self. Your mate no doubt helped smooth out parts of your spirit.
So we just need to find our way. That is the task we all face :)

My husband was also the more personable one and the best parts of my personality are not exactly dominant right now!
I look forward to attaining a time in the future when the wounds have healed a bit and I can function more fully as who I am rather than reacting from this place of deep pain and emptiness.
I am not the Karen I was.......before Bill.
I am now Karen who was loved by Bill.
That makes me an infinitely better, stronger, more loving person. And a person who has been reminded that I can find strength and faith in Jesus.
Grief and anguish would never have been ......without "Bill and Karen" coming first...........all by God's grace..
Being humbled and softened thru loss, I am honored to give some solace to fellow human beings along the way till I go home.
