I am sorry for your loss. I too am hurting too. I am sure it was very hard for you to be their for your wife.

Hello, I understand because I took care of my husband during his cancer also. It's a hard thing to watch and deal with, even after they're gone. For me it's been almost 2 years. Be easy on yourself, do something you feel good about, remember her with smiles and just take one day at a time.

Hello, my husband passed away 3 months ago. I was his caretaker for the last few years of his life. After being married 51 years I am just taking one day at a time.

Those first few years are the hardest. You are right. It is a very lonely place that you find yourself living in. There is no quick resolution to grief and loneliness. It takes a lot of time and a lot of tears to start living again. It also takes some effort of the will to begin to involve yourself in the world again. You will know when the time is right for that and little by little, it will happen. I will certainly be praying for you my friend.

It is very lonely! No other way to describe it! Family and friends are living their life and we are just going through the motions of living. I’m hoping someday all that come here will find peace and happiness, myself included. Take care

I too lost my husband after being married for 29 years. It's been 31 months now and I can remember thinking in the beginning that I didn't want to survive without him this long. There has been slow but steady improvement in the past few months. I don't cry regularly, I'm not overwhelmingly sad when I am alone and I look forward to events in my life with anticipation of enjoyment. However, I still miss him and wish he were here with me. But I'm learning to do more than just survive day to day. Several months into this loss I joined Soaring Spirits International which serves widows and widowers. They have regional groups that socialize and offer support. It helps to find others who can share the journey. I hope you find some joy today.

I know what your feeling I took care of my wife for 6 years while she fought
cancer she this thursday will be 4 months since she past it almost seems
like the hurts getting stronger I keep busy 6 days a week working but
sundays are the tough one for me I feel if we weren't so much in love with
our other 1/2's we wouldn't be hurting so much so I'll find a way to deal
with the pain Because being so in love with my wife for over 30 years I
guess the pain is a small price to pay and I would do it all over again in
a instant hang in there my and take care

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. Being busy will help. Someone mentioned volunteering.. it would be a start. Joining the gang at McDonald's for morning coffee is another step. It’s only been 3 weeks since my husband left me. I am trying to keep busy, but everywhere I turn it’s a reminder of what we had, and what I miss. 45 years in May, we were taking a trip
Everyone has gone on with their lives, and I realize how alone I am.
I did do volunteer work I’m hoping I can go back to that.
I pray for strength everyday day.
