Wow, you are really tacking on a lot of changes in your life in a short period.

There was this guy who tried to correlate life changes and health and found that the stress of a lot of changes led to medical issues. Moving, changing a job, death of a family member, divorce, birth of a child were all big factors in building stress in that study. I. Just googled that and was unable to find the reference ( it's over 30 years ago ) but the references I did find always mention major life changes as stressors.

So I have no doubt that you might be finding even small things a problem.

Also, just a story about big city dmv - lol at how much trouble I had when I renewed the last time.

My son in law' s stepdad lives out of the country, but has his mail sent to their house. So he visited the country and wanted his drivers license in the US. So he brought a piece of mail with my daughters address on it and he was able to get a drivers license with no problem.

So I go in to review my license and I've lived at the same address for 30 years. They refused to give me one because I did not have proper documentation. Lol, I don't have any bills sent to my address ( all e bills ) so I had to go back home and produce my MF passport to prove I'm an American! So this dude that does not even live has no trouble, but the tax paying dude supporting the MF government handing out the licenses gets hassled!!!!!

In short I was not surprised that you had problems with the dmv :)

Congratulations, and good luck on the new job! I still find paperwork and chores hard to do. I have to force myself to do something other than just vegetate. So every little chore accomplished I count as a triumph. And sooner or later, I'll feel like I'm making the best of this life that I have been given.

I'm impressed, I had to go to the dmv yesterday and I misseed Roby being home so I could tell him about my day. Im finding that part really hard, no one to talk to.

Oh, yes, I know exactly what you mean about every little thing being a daunting challenge! Things that I would have not thought about at all were extremely intimidating after my husband passed away. I would just sit paralyzed in fear at times and that was not my personality at all before my husband's death. Now that I have lived a full year after my husband's death, I am curious as to whether some of the things that were so daunting last year might be a little easier this year. I certainly hope so.

You took on a big project and change of environment when you moved from Wisconsin to Louisiana! I look forward to hearing about your experiences of living in the Deep South. I have never been there but I understand it is its own unique, wonderful world.

I'm having his business taxes done tomorrow. So I had to go make sure all the stuff was in order (like I would know). While I was there I decided to finally clean out all the old paperwork from the hospital & all his prescriptions and all the just old useless paper. I was doing well until in an old ceramic jar I found a ring he had bought me . It wasn't anything fancy. But he bought it from the Indian reservation as a surprise for me. He was always doing that stuff.
And the DMV ? I was there a few weeks back because even tho I don't drive I have to have a current ID from them. The lady @ the bank refused my 2 yrs expired ID...even tho I look like me and still live in the same house. Then the DMV wanted my birth cert. Lucky me...I just happened to have it from when we had to apply for medicaid.
So now even tho I was ok earlier..now I'm shaking inside and wanna cry.

I admire your zeal in accomplishing what you have. Just want to share that I was trying to do too much, so not to deal with the grief. My husband has passed away in July and the day after Thanksgiving, I was in the emergency room experiencing chest pains. After tests the primary doctor diagnosed that I had a small heart attack. Being in the hospital for four days cause me to think and I came to the conclusion that you cannot rush grief. I wanted get it over with, so I could go on with life. It is a process and cannot be controlled.

I havent had too many problems with this type of issue as they are things I always did. Just missing her everyday is now my biggest problem. By the way I also live in a small community outside of Milwaukee (Big Bend). This has been an awful winter.

My 1st year without my husband: each problem or task was magnified. The simplest things would become an all day project. As I chipped away at the problems, I gained more strength and confidence. Cutting the grass in the summer was a huge strength builder.

It been a little over a yr now. I can handle the problems much better than I did last yr, but it's still not easy. For me, it is the money situation that holds me back.
