Life after death is something that all the major religions teach. It's a part of religion's view of reality. If you had that view of reality before you lost your loved one, then now is not the time to doubt your view.

Lol, that is what friends told me when my daughter died 17 years ago. It's good advice, IMO.

Some do not believe in it but there are too many credible testimonies. Is it the one you're referring called The Life after Death Project (2013)? Found it on Amazon- just wondering.

Girldawg, you are correct, that is the one I was referring to. It is Life after Death Project, Volume 1.

Sheila: there are many documentaries, movies and books on the subject of life after death. I believe Faith and Hope is really all we have after we've lost our spouse. What ever a person wants to believe in should be whatever it takes to deal with place that we are all trapped in.
The only answer to that question will be when we ourselves step over that threshold. We will then finally know, or we will know nothing at all. That's the reality that in the end we will face it only by ourselves, alone.

Not depressing at all George. I too am a realist. I don't have the "faith" that many here have. But I do not write it off one way or another as I just don't know. I cannot fully convince myself that I will see Leonard again when it is my time, but in the meantime I hold on to the small kernel of hope that maybe I will be reunited with him and that has to be enough for me in the meantime. I hope we will both be pleasantly surprised someday. xo

Shieia; Regarding faith, one day shortly I will journal what happened when Diane died. It will show the result of the RULE for distinguishing between coincidence and confirmation of a given set of events that have occurred. It will be only open to my friends for a period of time.

I have good' personal reasons for believing that there is no "death" as some would understand to be an end of life. We all continue to live and learn, and our dear ones do not mourn us, because they can use the clarity they now have. Our grief is "The miss" but in just a little while, we will be united and able to see for ourselves and to understand. Be kind to yourself in experiencing the grief that you feel, and be blessed that someone special was given to you to walk a while with you. We you cry have known love.

Ok, I'd like to lighten this discussion a bit. The recent posts by George , barb and chilli reminded me of this funny wager that this French math guy, Pascal ( they named a programming languege after him ), used to convince his non-Christian friends to believe in God.

It's called Pascal's wager. There two possibilities, God exists, or God does not exist. You can either believe in God or not.

Case 1 - God exists, you believe God exists and follow his laws. Result is plus infinity ( heaven )

Case 2 - God does not exist, you believe God exists and follow some laws thought to be from God. Result is your life on this earth is the same as case 1, you might have missed out on some vices, when you die nothing happens.

Case 3 - God does not exist and you don't believe God exists. You live your life as you want and when you die nothing happens.

Case 4 - God exists and you do not believe God exists. You live the same as case 3 but when you die you get negative infinity ( hell in Pascal's view )

So if you are a betting person you are much better off believing in God. If you are right then you gain plus infinity, if you are wrong you only have to be annyoed by a few laws on how to treat people.

It you bet that God does not exist, you will avoid some laws but you might also suffer minus infinity ( hell ).

Now I don't go along with that wager exactly because I believe that those pesky laws that religious people follow are actually a good way to treat people and navigate this plane of existence.

Asarivg; In other words follow God's rules and you win. I think It's a basis of all religions and at the same time defines the difference between a good person and a bad person. That is basically " Right and Wrong". We all make mistakes but as in all things it's the INTENT that only you yourself deep down inside know when you do something.
