Supportive & kind response he might be one to see again, if not it's a warning.
You can learn a lot from how someone responds in such a situation, maybe it was time to get those answers.
Cautious makes sense as the gals commented earlier, not a great time to rush anything.

I appreciate your honesty with us so I will do the same. You need to take some big, deep breaths and slow down. I, personally, think that it's too soon for you to be out on a date. You need to take care of your feelings right now. You need to stop and think and not rush into anything right now.
Anyone worth seeing will be there for you when you've taken the time to take care of you. YOU are very important right now.

There are other methods of dealing. Try exercising. Walk, or join a gym. It's amazing how much better you would feel.
Music is good therapy.
