Hello All. I just joined. My name is Dave. I lost my wife 9 1/2 months ago. She was 46. We have three kids 14, 12 and 10. It's been a pretty bad 9 months for me. I have been reading a lot of your posts and I have found such similarities in the way all of you and I are feeling that I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your thoughts. It has confirmed a lot for me and made me feel that it is ok I feel certain ways about certain things. Thanks all.

Hi. I'm glad you found us, but sad for your loss that brought you here.
I hope sharing with us helps you feel less alone and brings you some comfort. I lost my husband a few years ago from lung cancer after 40 years married. Wishing you and your children well. Sharon

Sorry for your loss. I really feel for those with children at home... I don't know how you do it! I could barely care for myself.

Hi Dave . . truly sorry for your recent loss. You have been blessed with three children . . . yet, I know how difficult this grief journey will be for all of you. My heart aches to think about. I'm glad you have found us here on DS. I think you will find a lot of continued support here amongst our scattered and shattered lives. Together, we are strong and we do survive this horrid journey. welcome, dealing with the death of a spouse is the hardest thing i have ever done. Dealing with your your grief and your children's at the same time as running your household must be so difficult. Know that we are here for each other and we are all walking this new path.

Thank you. .It's been hard. I think mostly because I worry so much about my kids. But I am finding that this my issue. Kids are very resilient. They are continuing to thrive. They all do very well in school.They are all athletes. They all have nice groups of friends. I think that their schedules, and how busy we all are, has helped immensely in our adjustment to Jenn being gone.

welcome Dave, It has been less than a month for me after 31 years of marriage so I know I've barely scratched my grief, but already these folks have all helped me out. So sorry for your loss.

Welcome Dave....I am so sorry for your loss and wish you and your children the best always....I also have found this community and posts very supportive, helpful and the threads represent so many of the things that I am feeling... I lost my husband seven weeks ago.....it is very nice of you to add your voice to this community as we all travel on a journey none of us wanted....

Welcome, Dave. I am so sorry that you have had to experience the loss of your wife. It is soooo hard to have to walk this path, but we have no choice, do we? I am at two and a half years and I have to say that things have gone from unbearably painful to manageable. I am able to look to the future with a bit of optimism now and see that life may still offer some contentment. It is a long, slow, torturous path but together we will survive.

Sorry for your loss. I am at 2 months, this Sunday...

But we didn't have any kids, so I know nothing about how that part of it is. I have a daughter from marriage #1, but she is 22. She moved in with me, so I won't be alone and to help her get a job.
