I;m sorry for your loss. I lost my husband six years ago, He was 47, and we have four children. The first year is just one foot in front of the other, It really does get better, The loss is always there, but the crushing grief is lifted. The anxiety and being overwhelmed lessens. Do what you can handle one day at a time. I spent the whole first year fishing with my young children and their cousins. Talk to your Doctor if you need to.

Welcome Red. I wish I had something to say to each of you. My husband and I talked about how he'd never get to walk his daughter down the aisle or hold his grandchildren and we both cried. Yikes, I'm going to be a big fat mess if I'm lucky enough to get to do/see those things. Hugs to you both.

Red, it's okay. My wife's death undid me like nothing I've ever experienced in my life. I'm at nearly 3 years and still got a ways to go, way better than I was at your point. Just hang in there. Take things as they come and you will be okay. It just takes us all time and lots of it. Scott

My husband of 51 years passed in February. I’m so lost right now so I know some of how you feel. I try hard to put a strong face on in front of my two sons and their families and at the same time my heart is breaking into tiny pieces. Just taking one day at a time.

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my husband in Nov. 2017 after we were together for 36yrs. His passing was sudden and we were blindsided by the loss. I am still on very shaky ground and that is putting it mildly. I found this group and what a blessing it has been. I lost my husband and best friend 9 weeks ago. We all are now part of a online support group that we all wish we didn't have to be. Everyone tells me to just take one day at a time, one hour,one second if that's all you can manage. I hope eventually I will have more good days than bad but I cant see past today. The shock and anger I feel are still overwhelming. What I do know is that there are a lot of people are this site who care are have been a blessing when I feel I am at my lowest points. I want to thank everyone for there kind words reading these reply's made my day. I can see theirs alot of pe0ple on the same journey, some just starting out so and some further along.Today at work I heard our wedding sound on the
radio and lost it.When I got done crying I felt alot better, guess some times
you got to let it out. Thanks again and have a good night

I’m sorry for your loss, it’s a terribly painful journey we’re on, each one of is suffering and missing them so much it hurts! But life goes on whether we participate or not. Time doesn’t stop, our life as we knew it, does. I pray for strength to get through each day and hoping the day will come when I can look back at happy memories and not be sad. I want that for all the wonderful people here too.

I lost my wife of 30 years in Feb 2018, and my oldest daughter is also planning a wedding. Honestly I am terrified about that coming day while at the same time very happy for her. I appreciate you sharing, and I am with you. What I love about this site is these incredible strangers that truly understand. I appreciate you sharing and I hope that we can maybe help each other for our kids given we seem to have so much in common.
