I lost my husband 4 months ago and I'm feeling so alone

I'm so sorry. You will find friends and comfort here. It's so recent. Most everyone here knows how it is to feel alone after a loss. Try to take one day at a time. if there is a bereavement group in your area it may help to join. May peace and strength be with you. Hugs, Dolores

Nothing worse. That feeling of aloneness. Thirty years and we seldom were apart. I'd actually never been really alone in my life before. Bachelor days don't count :) But eventually I came to cherish my alone time as I started to get to know myself. I spent a lot of time here, did a lot of writing, basic survival day by day. All any of us can do is take it one day at a time. Hang on through the day, and before you know it tomorrow has arrived, and we go through the same sucky-ass routine as the day before. But we clog ever forward being as lost as any of us have ever been in our entire life. I had to believe that I would come out of this stronger than before. And in ways I am. I know myself to be a better person. And I learned deeper love and compassion through it all. It's tough when the only person we have to focus on is ourselves, And yet until we do that, we see little movement toward a different life that just has to be out there waiting for us. Scott

My loss is also at the 4 month mark. You are still raw with the emotions of all of it. Know that the feelings will rise and fall like the tide. Try to recognize that the waves are coming and hold on because they will recede again. You learn to ride them out. On the days that you feel you cant ,reach out. It there is no one to reach out to ,come here. We are so much stronger together. We are here and you aren't alone. Hugs

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Part of the reason I joined is that so far I haven't been able to find a support group but I will keep looking. The worst part is coming home every night to an empty house.

Sorry for your loss and loneliness, and most of us are on the same path. Welcome.

Me too! Even with people still in the house. I hope you find some comfort here.

grngma welcome. I'm sure you will find lots of comfort here. I lost my husband 9 weeks ago and I have found so much love and kindness from others who "get it". The hardest part for me is also the empty house and loneliness when I come home at night from work. He was my constant, my everything and I feel like I am drowning without him. In a crowded room I still feel alone without my best friend. I hope that it will eventually get better for all of us. Hugs to you.
