I understand your loss,yes the pain is deep and only those of us who have lost a love one knows the pain. My husband passed away last July 6, the worst day of my life we had been married for 32 years and just like that he was gone. If it had not been for the LORD being my rock I never would have made it this far. I cry out to GOD because he really understands my pain and hurt,ask GOD for JOY and he will bring it.

I lost my husband with no warning 4/26/17. I am not doing well either. To some it may seem I am doing fine, but on the inside I am crying constantly....why, why, why? 40 years of marriage, close to retiring, enjoying our everyday together, then "poof"" it was over. I wanted more....

Healthy distraction is good too. Of course too much of a good thing........

3.5 years here and I can turn up a basket case in seconds.

I still miss my husband too. Even though he had mental illness with alcoholism. I still feel for him and I am having a hard time to church because the members who are expecting me to get over my husband. I feel that I am angry at them and I kept on thinking about him everywhere I go. I even told my bishop that I dream about my husband. I do not understand why the church members do not see what I feel about my spouse. I mean I go to church and I was hoping that they understand how I feel. I feel too much pressure about the getting over him.

I go to the Unitarian church even though I converted to Buddhism. The church is not at all judgemental and when I went to sing and be with God I cried and people I didn't know came up to hug me after the service. They didn't know why I was crying until I told them. If there is a Unitarian Universalist church near you try it anyone of any other faith is welcome, very loving people, no pressure to get over anyone or anything. We have veterans with PTSD who also cried when we sang so I did not feel alone. The Buddhism is just private meditation I do alone to calm my mind but church should be sharing with positive people. I hope your church members will become more loving and open minded to your pain.
