DJC, you’re right. Dealing with in-laws can be very difficult. Now, on one hand i’m very fortunate because my first husband’s brother stayed very close with me and my whole family and has been a true brother to me. He even walked me down the isle at my 2nd wedding to Terry and he liked terry and said his brother would’ve approved. He still sends me text and fb messages to let me know he loves me and he’s always going to be around for me and I appreciate that. The other siblings never cared for me much. As far as Terry’s family though.. that’s a different story. They didn’t even have much to do with him while he was alive and at the funeral made a big production about how sad they were that they lost their brother. Afterwards, while everyone was here at the house eating, his sisters had the nerve to ask me if they could have something of his. I just walked off and flipped the fuck out. I couldn’t deal with that. When they all left to travel back to their state (glad they don’t live close by) I was so relieved. Just before christmas I started getting text from his brother saying he just wanted someone to talk to and felt like he could talk to me and not his siblings. After only 1 week of text, it became very evident that talking was not all he wanted so I ended the conversation. WTF??? do I have “easy” or “desperate “ stamped on my fucking forehead??? I ‘m just done with them. Terry warned me over the years about his family but I guess I saw what he was trying to tell me. SMH. Stand your ground my friend and stay strong. Hugs

Drama brings out the best or worst in people. Marriage can do it, so can death. People can do nasty things, just stay away I guess is my only advice or as inked1 said stand your ground and stay strong.

You guys gave me such a laugh! Thanks for that. My husband was known all through out the city he was all around good guy. We were complete and total opposite. Me introvert him too freakin friendly. Even in the hospital by the time he passed the staff just kept saying you had a great guy. With that came a lot of male friends. But if my husband didn’t bring you home then I didn’t need to know you that well and he brought very few home. I still have who I expected around. His cousin he grew up with is like me if I can’t talk to him I just want to talk about him. No agenda there. But there are others I get a vibe. I set boundaries. I sometimes feel like all eyes on me for who is the next man in my life. They can keep on waiting. My sis in law and her behavior I expected. Like she wanted all the attention. I let her have it. People kept saying you are the wife. Trust me I know who I am. If you knew my husband then you knew who I was. No need for me to fall over competing for attention. Actually her being her allowed me to get in my corner sometimes and be. I miss my husband he was my shield from the nonsense. I’m a stand my ground good advice. But I’m a leave folks where they at too. It’s too much energy. Thanks for the laugh I hope to return the favor one day.

Jeff when I went back to work. I kept this site open in a browser at all times. When work got too much I submerged my self here it helped me. I’ve even on other sites where they share and I swear it’s not the same feeling.

Death does strange things to people. My husband's family was super close to him. As soon as he passed, I have not seen them. They attended the memorial but that was 4 years ago. I get Christmas cards and have tried to reach out to his brother. Seems that they don't have time. I know his sister has a hard time with all the memories, but I would like to see them.
To inked1 I agree with WTF! That is just unbelievable.
