Would my husband feel the agony that I feel if I had passed before him? Would he sob and cry at the smallest of things. Would he find a reason to get up, get out and keep living. Would he try to find joy and comfort and peace. Would he find a purpose to keep going, if only because he didn't want his kids and grands to suffer anymore loss? Would he find parting with anything I had even touched so hard to do? Would he look at our camper and wonder why do I keep it when I have no one to share with? But, maybe someday he would? If he were healthy enough to do the things he could, would he find a reason to go on? I know he loved me and didn't want to leave and I hope he still loves me. Just questions I keep asking myself. Hugs and Love, Michele

I am sure your husband would have been just as heartbroken as you are.

But I said this once to his best friend since grade school, and I was informed otherwise. He told me that Shane would not have been able to get over that loss... that the kids and I were all he ever talked about. He told me that I was just as much Shane's world as he was mine.
I remember when I had cancer... and how strong Shane had seemed through it all... until the day of my second surgery. He was with me prior to surgery, and they let him walk as far as the doors that led to the operating room when they wheeled my bed that way. The nurse looked like a baby! She was so young, and likely very new to the profession. Such a sweet girl...And then she said the words that caused Shane to blow! She said "Okay, this is it. Kiss her goodbye." What she meant, was obvious... he could not go in the O.R. with us. I laid there on that bed... trying to get him to calm down as he ripped that poor girl apart and had her in tears. That was when I realized how scared he really was about all of that ordeal.
Still, though, I think he would have coped better than what I am doing. He was so much stronger than me... and I don't think he would have been nearly as lust and broken as I am now if the situation was reversed.
How he would of handled losing you is something that only you would know because of your loving relationship.
I can only speak for me, but I know that Larry was one of the most strongest men I ever knew & I worked around a lot of men. Strong as far as both intelligence & physical. But when the cancer took over I prayed that he would go before me because it took away his dignity.
He kept saying to me towards the end "I don't know what I would do without you." & now I don't know what to do without him......
