U cannot protect urself from sadness without protecting urself from happiness.
Most times I feel like his death is all but a dream, I lost him on the 6th of November 2015. He was the only one I could talk to. He knew me inside and out. He was my friend, brother, husband and all. I still haven't come to terms with it. But what can I say, the choices we make can sometimes end in ways we cannot comprehend. My story is one I long to share. I remain in this world for a reason. That reason is still a mystery. One I will see through till the end by His grace. I only pray for the strength and wisdom and means to take care of the two precious gifts he left behind, our two little bundles of Joy who ask about him every single day. Some days I don't even know how to hide the pain I am going through or my tears from them. I'm glad I found you all at least I know they are people out there like me.

I am so sorry for your loss!! My husband died September 1st. I don't try and hide my pain from our two little girls. I cry all the time in front of them. I think that maybe it helps them to see what they are feeling themselves. There have been nights when my 9 year old and I cry ourselves to sleep together. You don't have to hide it from them. For them to see Momma feel the same way they do and still trust that God will get them through may help them carry that trust also. It's okay for you and for them to love and miss and hurt for him together. He was your life. My prayers are with you. May the Lord carry you through this.

My husband's birthday will be next week and he's not here to celebrate it. He died in 2007 from end stage lung cancer and it was devastating. I felt a huge part of me died that day. It did. What I didn't know then was the party of me that remained could be whole again. Never the person who was his wife, but an individual able to survive. I learned that here with the encouragement of those who knew my pain. I hope is you find comfort and support we use. Sharon

Your wording is right on point. I'm still here for what purpose. Sometimes I wish there was a reliable crystal ball out there. I'm finding myself also reflective maybe it's the changing seasons or it would have been our anniversary shortly. Hugs, laurie

I'm so sorry you lost him. I know what you mean when you say he was the only one you could talk to....mine was the only I could talk to, who truly understood me and really loved and cared about me. I can't understand why the Lord has left me behind, what is my purpose now, I feel useless. XO
