First when things fell apart and there were things I could not do physically or even knew how to do I would fall apart: stressed and devastated

Well I realized things falling apart financially stress me yes but not devastatingly so like when I first lost my husband.

I had to get a new furnace being put in right now
my garage disposal went out boy is it stinking
my garage door spring broke can not get into it luckily my car was out
so I can still get to work
The refrigerator my kids gave me that was good although they only had it ~2 years it always leaked on the bottom so when they moved into new home they just got rid of it: ha ha its only the door on the freezer bottom which is off the runner on one side so would frost up than defrost a simple taking of the drawer off readjust the runners and new $2000 stainless steel refrigerator!!!~

I now need to figure out how to find the $$$$ to fix my roof - have the parts but not the labor sigh. Going to apply to Habitat for Humanity to see if I can qualify Sigh but not blown away devastatingly like before I just realized

It sounds like you are finding your true inner strength. The ew reality of being "the responsible one" is really hard. I, too, am beginning to find my stride in figuring otr the financial burden and maintenance issues. I empathize with your struggle. I guess we just need to keep keeping on.{{{ Hugs }}} ~ Bailey ~

I truly believe there is nothing we can't do or learn. Yes, the heavy work is best left to those stronger, but my husband wasn't able to do anything heavy for years. I am so glad you thought of Habitat for Humanity. I too will need a new roof before long, just replaced the furnace and will need a new central air unit before it gets hot. I will keep looking and asking until I find someone to do these things and hopefully will find a way to afford it. Hang in there dear friend. Just another glitch but you will get there. The first few months after my wife passed things started needing attention. My refrigerator also replaced, the car's alternator and battery. The finances such as taxes and loans exc... Being a guy the car issues, nothing new, but I began to notice even though these things were stressful, I was distracted and didn't spend my time counting the cracks in the walls. It helped to distract me for awhile at least. That's not to say I'm looking for problems but still in those early weeks I was so busy it kept my mind occupied.

All I can say is....I now laugh in the face of danger!!!!!!

So much needed to be done and it seemed that everyone was busy living and doing their own lives.......I was ON MY OWN!!!! With the help of some wonderful strangers [who I paid, of course.] It ALL got done.

I still have a lot to do but I know now that I CAN DO IT! It may take a phone call or two a look into Google and some cash on hand but I CAN DO IT!

Congratulations the refrigerator and on your wonderful "get it done" and "moving forward" attitude!
