Please let me share this with you.
Someday I will share the following story with my family, but for now I would simply start crying if I attempted to relate the story. I have found putting it into words helpful and I read it to myself often.
A Kiss on the Eye
As Janice and I were just beginning to date, one of my early memories is of her kissing me on my eye. I recall being over at the little house on 5th street. I am not sure of the circumstances, but I had fallen asleep on the sofa. It was the sofa in the main living room and I recall it was daylight outside. As I slept, or kind of slept, Janice came into the room and ever so softly, without saying a word kissed me on my closed eye. I was aware of this as she did it, but I pretended to remain asleep. It was at that moment I first thought, Oh My! This girl is really special!
Now, fast forward thirty two plus years later. I am sitting at Janices bedside, it is the middle of the night and she is dying of cancer. She has been unresponsive all day, and I know the end is just days if not just hours away. I have been told the sense of hearing is the last go, although unresponsive, I continue talking to her. For some reason I recall the kiss on the eye she gave me at the beginning of our relationship those many years ago. I had never spoken to Janice of my remembrance of the kiss, it was just something I had kept to myself. I proceeded to tell her the story, not knowing what she could hear or feel. As I came to the end, I knelt over and gave her the softest kiss I could, muster directly on her closed eye.
Janice passed two nights later. When she passed, I was sleeping in the bed next to her, unaware of her final moments. She had not moved even the tiniest little bit all day, but when I found that she had passed, her head was turned in my direction, and she had an ever so slight smile on her face. I will never know if she was able to hear or feel our last kiss, but I will remember and cherish it forever.
Our story ended the same as it began. A simple kiss on the eye.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
