I understand. It seems like our pain knows no end. I share your feelings. The memories that we have of our partner are wonderful, but the loss seems to go on and on.

Thanks, Mark. It's been 10 weeks and I really think I am getting adjusted to the "new normal" but oh, I just miss him.

Hello Lucky, Yes, I miss Amy every day. I never thought that I would cry every day, but I do (multiple times each day).... And you are right, the loss does go on and on.....I have joined a support group (Griefshare, link is griefshare.org) and it helps me....They have groups that meet across the country.

Hi again, Mark. Yes, I am in a GriefShare group and I find it does help somewhat. Yesterday's focus was on Job and all of his losses and how God does not have to explain everything to us and, in fact, if He did, would our mortal minds even be able to comprehend everything? And would we want to worship a God that could be completely understood by us mere mortals? So that helped me to put it in a little more perspective. Maybe I will never understand why Steve worked so hard his entire life to support his family and then, just when he should have been getting ready to retire and enjoy life a little, he got sick. Maybe I will never understand why.....................and this is a hard one............he had to suffer so horribly before he died. Maybe we aren't meant to understand. I don't know. I was sick with cancer myself at the same time but I did my best to make his last year bearable, despite all of the fear and pain and sorrow.

That is how grief works. No rhyme or reason, and it doesn't need a reason or excuse to hit us. How awful it would be if we didn't miss them. I know it's tough. I for one wouldn't exchange the sadness and lonesomeness if it meant I would never have had all those wonderful years of love with her. This to shall pass. ~~~ Scottie

Take it all day by day, there are many ups and downs. After 2 1/2 years, slowly adjusting to this new life. I have mentioned a zillion times, I have no family very close by so at times it gets overwhelming. GIrlfriends are great, but my husband is always missed.

Hey , I know that feeling very well . We will beg for the answer and no one seems to be bothered . And we just terribly miss him and feels he is not around to listen . And this is when we just don't have words and "miss him " feels like so less to express what's really going inside us . Peace and healing for all .
